Loomings Submissions

Each year, Loomings, the college’s arts magazine, calls on members of the Benedictine community (students, faculty, staff, connected others) to share with us their original creative work. Loomings presents an anthology of creativity in a wide range of art mediums, both traditional forms — poetry, prose, fine arts, and photography — as well as in other mediums less likely to appear in a magazine — calligraphy, dance, film, musical compositions, theatrical performances, and other audio/visual art. We encourage interested artists to consider this opportunity for both traditional and innovative expression. Send us your art!

The theme for the Spring 2024 edition of Loomings is “Reflections,” and we invite all submissions, theme-related or not.

Submit all creations by email to loomings@benedictine.edu.

In the Email:

• Write the genre and title in the subject line. 
• For visual art (paintings, photos, etc) attach a high-resolution image to email, naming the medium, dimensions, and title in the subject line.

Summation Limits: 

• For poems, songs, and music, please submit no more than five (5) pieces. 
• For photos, painting, and visual art, please submit no more than ten (10) pieces.
• For prose, please submit no more than three (3) pieces. 
• Word count limited to 1,000 words per piece.
