Graduate Assistant - Videographer and Social Media Content Creator

Graduate Assistants act as helpers to their departments, students or professors in a research or administrative capacity. Their primary responsibilities include assisting with various administrative tasks, organizing campus events and conducting various research task.

For students intending to get an MBA:

GA positions require a two year commitment to the College. GA’s cannot complete the MBA program in less than two calendar years.

You must first apply and be accepted into the MBA program in order to be selected for a Graduate Assistant position.

You must receive a GA position before being enrolled in any MBA courses; once you have been enrolled in any MBA courses you are no longer eligible to receive a GA position.

Lastly, individuals must remain in good-standing in the graduate program in order to continue in the GA position.

Position Summary

The Graduate Assistant Videographer & Social Media Content Creator will assist the Sports Information Department and Raven Athletics on all marketing and promotional activities by creating video and picture content for all social media platforms, stadium videoboards and live BRSN broadcast. The Graduate Assistant is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Benedictine College, the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Essential Functions

  • Assisting in all aspects of the sports information department
  • Oversee peripheral members of the staff
  • Visible, fully integrated member of the College community
  • Take pictures and video anywhere on or off campus, of athletic-related events or members of the Benedictine community
  • Taking finished media & using clips, still, quotes, and brand tie-ins in social media strategy
  • Using finished content on video boards and live BRSN broadcast
  • Gathering and reporting on social data and metrics for weekly and monthly reports
  • Implementation of a promotion strategy of content and features and benefits of the product across multiple social platforms
  • Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations of the NAIA as it relates to the sports information department
  • Represent Benedictine College and the department in a professional manner
  • Responsible for being a proponent of the NAIA Champions of Character Program.

Position Qualifications

  • Proficient in Videography, Photography, and relevant software
  • Ability to create engaging content
  • Experience behind the camera
  • Detail Oriented and time-efficient
  • High level of personal integrity
  • Outstanding work ethic
  • Knowledge of and commitment to NAIA rules and regulations
  • Outstanding skills in oral and written communication
  • Good organizational ability and computer competency


  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • * Must be fully admitted to a Master’s program at Benedictine College


  • Strong preference in public relations, mass communications, sports management or administration, journalism, graphic design, or a related field.
