Presidential Scholars Weekend
Competition COVID Precautions
In preparation for the Presidential Scholars Weekend, we want to make you aware of the modifications and mitigations efforts that are in place to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread. We ask for your support and cooperation in considering and observing these plans.
- We are offering two on-campus competitions with a capacity of 175 participants (approximately 375 with family members) at each. If you have any reservations about this setting, we can accommodate virtual participation.
- Interviews will take place in classrooms or spacious offices. Please note that you may be asked by your interviewer to wear a mask during your interview. We appreciate your cooperation.
- We invite those who wish to continue using protective face coverings or masks to feel free to do so. Your comfort and protection are paramount to us!
- For students who have requested to stay overnight in one of our residence halls, please be aware that due to the unpredictable nature of COVID and related quarantine requirements, there is a possibility that your overnight host or backup host may become unavailable at the last minute.
If you are travelling with a parent: Please be sure to have a backup plan to stay overnight with your parent in case your overnight host or backup host becomes unavailable.
If you are travelling alone: We will ensure that you have a place to stay on campus.
Please be assured that we will make every effort to accommodate your request to stay overnight on campus, and will notify you at check-in about the status of your overnight host accommodations, along with name and contact information for your overnight host.
- We ask that you do not attend if you have experienced any COVID-19 symptoms prior to your arrival. We are happy to make accommodations for you to participate virtually.
- Please note that neither a negative COVID test nor proof of vaccination is required for participation in Presidential Scholars Weekend.
